Rachio Limited Warranty
Warranties Are Non-Transferable
Sales of second-hand items or sales from websites and/or resellers who are not authorized dealers of RACHIO, INC (“RACHIO”) products are not eligible for manufacturer’s warranty. Please note when considering the purchase of RACHIO products on sites such as Ebay or Craigslist. When purchasing from Amazon.com it is important that you (also referred to herein as “Customer”) identify where the product is being “shipped from and sold by,” which is stated clearly in the header for each product. If the product is not shipped from Amazon AND sold by Amazon, it is not eligible to be covered by this warranty. Please review the warranty carefully, and contact Rachio if you have any questions.
THE FOLLOWING IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS, AND LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS THAT MAY APPLY TO YOU.
This RACHIO Limited Warranty (“Limited Warranty”) makes it even easier to choose RACHIO and enjoy your yard. For you, it’s the added peace of mind of knowing that RACHIO stands behind the Product.
Total Satisfaction Return Policy
If you are not satisfied with the Product for any reason, you may return the Product to the original purchase location in its original condition and packaging on or within thirty (30) days of the original date of purchase from RACHIO or an authorized dealer and receive a full refund, subject to the limitations below. RACHIO and its authorized dealers, in their sole discretion, will determine if the Product is in its original condition when returned.
RACHIO requires proof of purchase from an authorized dealer, and may require photos, serial numbers or other information to process a return and/or refund. RACHIO reserves the right to withhold a refund until we can verify the condition of the Product and associated proof of purchase.
Smart Sprinkler Controller Limited Warranty
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, RACHIO warrants that the Smart Sprinkler Controller will be free from material defect in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase from RACHIO or an authorized dealer (the “Limited Warranty Period”), for a period of two (2) years for factory refurbished Products sold on rachio.com, and for a period of one (1) year for factory refurbished Products sold elsewhere. If a Rachio Pro sells and installs a professional edition (“PRO SERIES”) of the Product, the warranty will be extended an additional two (2) years, resulting in a warranty period of four (4) years for that Product (collectively, the “Warranty Period”). A Product that is not free from defects in materials and/or workmanship is hereinafter referred to as a “Defective Product.”
Smart Lighting Controller Limited Warranty
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, RACHIO warrants that the Smart Lighting Controller will be free from material defect in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase from RACHIO or an authorized dealer (the “Limited Warranty Period”). A Product that is not free from defects in materials and/or workmanship is hereinafter referred to as a “Defective Product.”
Smart Hose Timer Limited Warranty
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, RACHIO warrants that a Smart Hose Timer Valve will be free from material defect in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase from RACHIO or an authorized dealer (the “Limited Warranty Period”), for a period of two (2) years for a Smart Hose Timer WiFi Hub, and for a period of six (6) months for factory refurbished Smart Hose Timer Valves and WiFi Hubs. A Product that is not free from defects in materials and/or workmanship is hereinafter referred to as a “Defective Product.”
Conditions
The Limited Warranty is subject to the following conditions:
Customer must either (i) return the Defective Product to RACHIO within the Limited Warranty Period, or (ii) notify RACHIO in writing of the Defective Product during the Limited Warranty Period by emailing support@rachio.com and return the Defective Product to RACHIO on or within thirty (30) days following the date RACHIO was notified in writing of the Defective Product;
Customer must comply with RACHIO’s return shipping instructions; and
Customer must provide RACHIO with proof of the original purchase of the Defective Product from RACHIO or an authorized dealer.
Customer must obtain a return materials authorization (“RMA”) number from RACHIO.
Refunds will be issued, less any shipping charges, for Products returned by you to RACHIO, and RACHIO will not accept collect shipments from you.
Remediation
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, RACHIO will, at its sole and absolute discretion, either (i) repair or replace the Defective Product, which may include replacing it with a refurbished product; or (ii) refund the money actually paid by the original purchaser for the Defective Product. Replacement products may be new or refurbished and may be a different model with equivalent features.
Limitations and Exclusions
This Limited Warranty does not cover: (i) damage due to misuse, accident, neglect, or modification; (ii) cosmetic wear and tear; or (iii) use not in accordance with the product instructions.
Important safety note regarding Smart Lighting Controller: Damage or overheating resulting from (i) installation that exceeds the Controller’s published wattage/load specifications, (ii) wiring that violates applicable electrical codes, or (iii) use with non‑UL‑listed low‑voltage lighting fixtures, is not covered by this warranty.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES—INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE—ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE, UNLESS A SHORTER PERIOD IS PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Force Majeure
RACHIO shall not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling its warranty obligations if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, labor disputes, war, terrorism, epidemics, supply chain interruptions, or governmental actions.
Governing Law
This Limited Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. All disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denver County, Colorado.
